To run Search and Replace from the command line in a ‘quiet’ state, so there in graphical user interface, use the /u command line switch.
Use caution when using this switch. The progress meter is displayed not and the program is is not even listed on the windows task bar. The only way you will be able to see the process is from the Task Manager or your NT/2000 administrative tools.
