Search Replace Current Files

Search and Replace can limit follow-up search &/or replace operations to only the files currently listed in the Search Results section of the main window. This is useful for narrowing down your operation or possibly saving you from having to change your path &/or file mask. For example, you could search a path for all the files containing the word “Windows” and then use the feature here to do a replace to change W2K -> Windows 2000 only in those files.

To use this feature, first perform your initial search. Next, change your search &/or replace strings. Finally, use one of the two special keyboard shortcuts to do either a search or a search/replace.

The shortcuts are:

CTRL+ALT+F

Search only the files currently listed in the search results.

CTRL+ALT+H

Search/Replace only the files currently listed in the search results.
