Filters – Attribute Filter Examples

Below are some example filter settings using the Attributes & Reverse Filters checkboxes in Options-Filters.

Notes:

  • To return to baseline, make your settings ‘Dim’, Reverse Filters = Off (unchecked).

  • When Reverse Filters is off, checked choices originate from the perspective of an ‘exclude’ filter.

  • If you need to ‘filter’ files by file name or path, use the Complex File Mask dialog.

Goal

Process ‘a-only’ files

Reverse Filter = On, Check ‘Archive’, Uncheck everything else. Make ‘Directory’ dim to also list ‘a’ subdirs.

Process files with no attribute set

Reverse Filter = On, Uncheck everything else. Make ‘Directory’ dim to also list subirs with no attribute set.

Process files that are ‘ra’ in some way

Reverse Filter = On, Check ‘Read Only’ and ‘Archive’, Others dim.

Process files that are not ‘r’ in some way

Reverse Filter = Off, Check ‘Read Only’, Others dim.

Process files that are not ‘ah’ in some way

Reverse Filter = Off, Check ‘Archive’ and ‘Hidden’.
